Compuscan's ContributionCompuscan believes that, as a responsible corporate citizen, it should make a positive contribution to the society and environment in which it operates. Consequently, Compuscan is committed to transformation and to the principles of BEE (Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment). Compuscan also aspires to all the elements of BEE, which has been made a priority in its strategic business planning. Currently, Compuscan is a level 5 contributor with the status of a value added supplier. In other words, our clients can claim 100% of their procurement spent with Compuscan, which levels Compuscan at a level 4 contributor. Compuscan believes BEE should be viewed as an opportunity to increase economic activity thereby creating sustainable livelihoods for as many South Africans as possible as well as a growing and sustainable consumer market. BEE is supported, amongst others, by our employment equity, skills development and procurement policies. We aim to procure the services of SME’s and start-up companies when appointing our suppliers without ever compromising on the quality of the services and goods offered to us. Compuscan further offers bursaries, study assistance and loans to candidates who qualify on merit, with the emphasis being on candidates from previously disadvantaged communities. Building a Skilful TeamAt Compuscan we recognise the importance of the people we work with and aim to continuously nurture and cultivate the potential within each employee through ongoing skills development and training. Developing and equipping our employees with both personal and job-related knowledge and skills is extremely important to the success of our company. In essence, we firmly believe that any investment in employee training and development is a key factor in meeting our company’s organisational, strategic, business and operational goals. Our sister company, Compuscan Academy, forms an integral part of our company’s operations by providing our employees with the best possible training programmes, giving each employee the opportunity to learn and grow as an individual. Moreover, Compuscan is in the process of developing a skills programme specifically for black staff members or interns for developing priority skills, plus, we are in the process of implementing a BEE project where our employees will use work hours to assist at different charities. Being InvolvedCompuscan has been involved in several charity projects includingThe Village Kids Nursery School in Somerset West and a countrywide Soccer World Cup charity campaign where Compuscan donated 1 000 soccer balls nationwide to needy children, schools and orphanages. Our sister company, Compuscan Academy, also hosted free money management workshops nationwide to assist communities to better manage their finances and become financially stable. |
