How does the South African Fraud Prevention Services (SAFPS) work with Compuscan? The SAFPS is an affiliate of Compuscan and the SAFPS Fraud Data is integrated into our Credit Check System. How does it benefit you? Once subscribed to SAFPS Data on our Credit Check system, whenever a Compuscan enquiry is performed, SAFPS data will also be returned. In addition, you will be able to report any cases of fraud to the SAFPS and this information is then shared with other subscribers on our Credit Check System. The fraud reason will be indicated by a category number on the Compuscan Credit Information. Please see all the category numbers and fraud reasons below:
By getting you to become members of the SAFPS, you contribute in combating fraud in the society. The volume of data provided to SAFPS members is continually growing as members report and file cases of fraud to the various databases. The SAFPS database currently holds more than 100 000 confirmed fraud filings and is growing daily. In terms of reporting fraudulent activities on our Credit Check System, you will find the ‘Register Fraud’ button on the ‘Credit Check Report Page’ under the ‘Definite Match’ data-block. When you click on the button you will be taken to the fraud registration page. After supplying all the relevant information, the data will then be sent to the SAFPS for verification before it gets registered on the SAFPS system and subsequently update our Credit-Check Database. The SAFPS has already made a significant contribution to the South African economy and to business through the prevention of more than R1 billion in attempted fraud. Ask yourself if you can afford to be without it in today’s turbulent times?
