In the true spirit of the festive season Stellenbosch based credit bureau, Compuscan, decided to warm the hearts of the children of Village Kids Nursery School in Garden Village, Somerset West when they launched an internal “Compuscan Shoebox” drive.

Drawing its inspiration from the original Santa Shoebox Project, staff chose to put together a shoebox for each of the school’s children filled with goodies such as clothing, toys, sweets and hygiene items.

Santa himself then made a surprise appearance at the children’s Christmas party on Wednesday 7 December to personally hand over the shoeboxes. When they saw Santa arrive - arms filled with presents - the children could not contain their excitement and Santa had to put down the gifts to give each child a hug. All the children were then thrilled at the opportunity to sit on Santa’s lap and have their photo taken before getting stuck into their sweet-filled party bags and Christmas cupcakes.

The warm reception and grateful embraces of these remarkable children serves as a reminder to all of the true meaning of Christmas and that the greatest gift you can receive over the season is the happiness and laughter of a child.
